My Story

I grew up in small town Connecticut, raised in an artist family and received a BFA in Illustration at RISD. In a time before the internet and having the accessibility of endless resources at your fingertips; I found myself waiting tables while I tried to figure out what a career might look like when all of my art professors told us that the fine art road was a tough one & few rarely β€˜made it.’

I ended up finding an apprenticeship in Tattooing and spent the next 13 years of my life building skill as a professional. The compounding years of physical and mental fatigue finally caught up with me and a few years ago I decided to transition out of this career.

Burnt out on illustration, I turned to abstract art; using my expired tattoo inks and other media to just PLAY. I found that I loved large color fields and bright saturated tones using gravity and a spray bottle to mix colors together.

4 years after leaving the tattoo industry, I finally got over my burnout and in 2022 found myself ready to illustrate and paint again. I am finding joy exploring themes and tropes that were prevalent while tattooing; myth, legend, fantasy, tarot, ancient gods & godesses; as long as there is a story to be told through imagery.

I hope you follow along as I weave these two passions together.
