It may seem as though Roman is in charge, but it is her hand holding his and demanding what she wants. Unlike in previous scenes where her power is forcefully taken from her, in this scene she is choosing to give it, which shows that she had the power in the first place. This is even more beautifully represented in the pose of this artwork. Roman is the intimidating dark angel in the background, but Estrella is the focal point. She is wielding the blade, she is where the eye is drawn. He is supporting her as she takes her power back.” -Hypatia
